I know, you are probably thinking, what am I nuts?!  But the fact is I recently was reading an article that was shared by my good ebiz associate, Peter Masters.

The article — “Why influence on Google+ is more than a popularity contest“ is written by Jolie O’Dell, writer for VentureBeat.  In this article she interviews Joe Fernandez, the Founder and CEO of Klout. 

A couple things caught my eye …. one, was an interesting statement from Joe Fernandez:

“It feels like there is rapid (almost inexplicable)
follow growth on Google+ right now,” said Fernandez.

“When measuring your effectiveness, consider more than
how many people have you in their Circles. Instead, [look at] how many people
react to your content and how much reach those people have,” he said.
”Influential people on the system get the most +1′s, shares and comments from
other influencers.”

Good advice for those of you wanting to build and grow your social awareness.  It always goes back to  ‘quality’ and not ‘quantity’.

Secondly, BIG NEWS:

Within the next few months, Google will be unveiling their business profile Google+ platform.  Jolie O’Dell found out and reported:

“Businesses that don’t have the patience to wait for
those features and instead jump into Google+ with a personal account will
suffer a rather painful consequence; they won’t be able to migrate that
personal accounts to a business profile. Google isn’t building a migration
tool, and it says switching accounts manually could get messy.

In an exclusive interview with VentureBeat, a Google
spokesperson confirmed, “There will be a product very soon that has businesses’
interests in mind… We want to give them the features businesses expect and the
features that can improve the sharing experience both for consumers and
businesses.”

As this is great news, I am still  holding back on putting any significant time into Google+ until the business  platform is revealed and …. until I see the potential and benefits Google+ will have for my business, products and services.
