Every day, millions of people wake up and go to work. And not just any kind of work – they go to their jobs.
Working hard to preserve the paycheck their company has promised to pay them, at an amount that company decided their time is worth, these people go out of their way to do their jobs so that they don’t lose it. In other words, for fear of losing their jobs, these people willingly give at least 40 hours+ a week to someone else’s business. Essentially, these people work for money.
Do the math: there are 168 hours in one week. Assuming we spend 7 hours every night sleeping, that leaves 119 waking hours. Of those 119 hours, at least 40 of them are spent at work. That’s 30% of every week! The numbers get even more scary for those on salary, or those “on-call”. And remember, these numbers don’t include commuting…
In addition to the time costs, jobs also take a toll on our emotions. It’s obvious to see that spending that much time working hard and dealing with stress out of fear can most certainly have a negative effect on our personalities. How many times have you or someone you know come home from work and is totally happy? More often than not, after finishing work, the rest of the day is lost for them because they feel tired and drained. Playing with the kids, or going on a date with their significant others becomes a chore. This is a very tragic thing.
Internet marketing skills can be the key to breaking that terrible cycle. With those skills, anyone can build a business online, whether through selling someone else’s products (as with affiliate or network marketing) or selling their own. The best part is that those skills can be applied to more than one product, so you can continue to sell online, as long as there are other products
Perhaps one of the greatest things that having developed internet marketing skills can provide is freedom. The obligation to spend all of your time working in fear for someone else’s company completely goes away. All of the work you do and put into your skills has an immediate payout to YOU – not to someone else. Essentially, internet marketers work for freedom.
I liken the difference between being an internet and network marketer versus being an employee to the famous choice the character Neo makes in the movie “The Matrix.” In the movie, Neo is presented with two pills – a blue pill and a red pill. If he takes the blue pill, Neo stays in the matrix, living his life as if nothing else existed. However, swallowing the red pill would let him escape the matrix, opening his eyes to the “real” world – where humans are trapped by machines.
Which would you choose? To be “farmed” by a business, forced to follow their culture, and accept what pay they give you? Or would you rather build a business that you own, traveling when you like, and generating as much income as you please?
I’ll take the red pill!
