How To Use Social Media To Get Results
-

The following are among the best social media practices that I have found quite effective in boosting excellent results to my business.
-

1. Utilize social media platforms in tandem.

If you are fond of blogging, then you should consider pushing out your content on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and more recent, Pinterest and other social networking sites.  By doing so, you can reach all your target audiences efficiently.

Furthermore, you might want to use social media dashboard tools, as these are becoming very popular and useful in enabling you to share content easily and effectively. These tools are great for when you want to monitor trending articles or to manage your profile in one place.
-

2. Find out where your customers are.

Make sure you use social platforms where your target audiences engage by doing some research.  Find out the social media tools and sites they use and reach out to them.  Discover new hang outs where they might be visiting that will give you that edge against your competitors.
-

3. Analyze, evaluate and apply effective strategies.

As with any marketing tool, you should test the waters before you apply a new strategy.  If you think your efforts fail to hit the mark, then it is time for you to apply another method.  Make it a point to keep trying and evaluating your progress.  In addition, analyze what successful online marketers are doing, how they are using social media and determine if these strategies will work for you, too.
-

4. Offer something fresh and relevant to your audience.

When you want to have a growing number of loyal fans, followers and customers, then you should not be stuck in a rut. Your main goal is to keep your content interesting, original and exciting for your target audience.
-

When you offer relevant and high quality content, you can expect people to become regular visitors. They may even refer others to check out your site, and this can boost your online presence and success.
-

You can find a number of resources online and use social media that can help you with your goal of marketing online and reaching out to a wider audience and obtaining more customers. These resources can help your business in discovering how you can use various social media tools in connecting with customers, increasing sales and promoting brand awareness. You will also find a number of videos, webinars, and blogs that can engage customers who are instrumental in the success of your business.
-

With all the benefits that social media offers, it is about time that you explore this outstanding tool in ensuring your success as an online marketer.  Keep these tips in mind, and start generating brand awareness and use social media tools that will do wonders for your business.

My worry is that if not careful you can spread yourself to thinly and focusing a lot on social media can eventually rob you of valuable time. I certainly am not saying that social media isn’t useful, I use it a lot but sometimes worrying that I am not keeping up to date with it all actually takes me away from creating proper useful content. Which is not good.

    Hi Lynn,

This is a really great post about Social Media usage Lynn :) Glad you shared ‘em as they effective to you.

Agree with Lisa on using effective tactics in different situations as you mentioned in the post :) As with analysis, evaluation and targeting, social analytics provide better understanding about ‘em. Isn’t it? :) Also, social advertising such as Facebook advertising are very effective, right dear? I remember once you mentioned you have used it too and found much useful.

Well, I have to ask couple of things Lynn ;) How about StumbleUpon? Isn’t it helping online marketers? And do you think as followers grow rapidly, we have to increase the frequency of content get posted?

    Cheers…

I like how your statement Mayura ….’using effective tactics in different situations’…that hits the nail on the head! Because social media and the internet are always changing. Our audience is always running to the next ‘shiny’ thing!

Being flexible is a very important tactic so each situation can be dealt with according to your business. So you make an excellent point there.

As for Stumbleupon, I have been always ‘Stumbled’ content, but am finding that so many bloggers, marketers and business owners do not. However, I have to say that I have made some connections because of Stumbleupon. So even though I don’t put a lot of effort into that site, I do see how it can be an important site to some people. It goes back to testing it out and see if it does attract more visitors or builds more connections.

As for the ‘frequency’ of sharing content … here is what I have learned since joining Empower Network which has amazing marketing training. IF you want to build your business ‘faster’ ‘quicker’ and want more visibility within the search engines, pumping out content each and every day will certainly attain those goals.

BUT…. we only have so much time in the day. So those online marketers, bloggers and small business owners (like myself) will outsource. I have a couple writers that help me with blog posts, I have a VA that helps me to post content and so forth.

This is what will BUILD your business. And building a business means you invest in your business. I found that outsourcing has given me time to work on other projects and helping others to build their business through my consulting and now building a team with Empower.

You brought up some good questions Mayura! Thank you so much for coming by today, will see you again soon!

Hi Lynn, it is important to know when something fails and move on to another tactic. Why waste time with something that is not working? I do struggle with that issue though since I don’t like to “give up.” I will have to think of it as not giving up but doing something new. Thanks for sharing!

You make a really good point Lisa. I have to say I have that ‘never give up’ attitude as well and it can get in my way, lol!

So thinking of it as something new is a good way to look at it. After all, the internet is always changing, what we do today on our social sites will change a bit tomorrow. If we go with a ‘can do’ attitude to make anything work, I think we are still within our never give up mindset.

Really appreciate you visiting and sharing your insight Lisa. Always great to see you and hope you have an amazing day!
