Creating Raving Fans 300x240 Facebook Share Button You Will Like For Your Business
The Facebook Share button finally allows you to direct the posts, articles or videos to your business (fan) page or even to a group.

There has been much frustration with the Facebook ‘Like’ button because when you ‘like’ something it automatically goes to your personal profile page.  While this might be acceptable for some people, if you are a business owner, entrepreneur, charity or group it is not acceptable to have your business ‘stuff’ go directly to your personal wall.

Last week I came across an article from one of my favorite blogging entrepreneurs, Leanne Chesser of WAHM Solution.  She pointed out how she tried to separate her Facebook friends and family from business contacts.  In doing so it created even more of a situation that she wasn’t happy with.  So she actually converted back to having a personal profile that includes all family, friends and business contacts.  (Read her post)

If you have a similar dilemma, I recommend that you run out right now and get a Facebook Share button plugin for your site.  The capability to direct the information you want to share with your business partners, associates, clients, customers or potential customers is something that was a long time coming.  Finally glad it is here!

Are you using the Facebook Share button?  Will you use it now that you are aware of it?  Please share your thoughts and comments, thank you.

OH – and PLEASE be sure to ‘share’ this post with your ebiz friends and groups!

Make it a profitable and successful day!

Lynn Brown Signature Facebook Share Button You Will Like For Your Business

P.S. Oddly, my blog does weird things when I try to deactivate my Facebook like buttons – so I will be removing them from my site when I get with my web guy! Cheers!—-

  1. Thanks for the demo.  I added the Share button to my blog and I am excited in seeing if it helps my community share my posts.  It does the same thing as the Facebook button in Sexy Bookmarks, but it is more obvious.

    • Lynn Brown says:

Yes the button itself is more obvious than in sexybookmarks. And not
everyone has sexybookmarks. So I am glad to hear Daphne that you will give
it a try. Let me know how it works for you. I am finding that my personal
Facebook page is not cluttered anymore with biz stuff. So glad that you
stopped by and shared your comments.

  2. Tisha says:

I have tried to separate my business post on my Fan Page to not show up on my personal page. No matter what I do it still shows up there. I will try the facebook share button. Thanks for mentioning it.

Facebook needs to come up with a feature for business owners to completely separate their fan page posts from their personal page.

    • Lynn Brown says:

Thanks Tisha for sharing your comments. I agree, there are so many people
screaming for the separation that you would think Facebook would do
something by now. I think the Share Button is something in the right
direction. Give it a try and I believe you will find it helpful. At least
no more biz posts, videos or articles will go to your personal wall unless
you ‘share’ to it. Let me know how it works out for you. So glad that you
      stopped by.

  3. What a positive change, Lynn! This is definitely a potential solution to Leanne’s predicament. I’ve always avoided “Liking” because I didn’t like how it automatically showed up on my wall. I’d at least prefer to be able to include a comment along with it. And I never understood the difference between Like and Share buttons. All cleared up now! Thanks, Lynn! =)

    • Lynn Brown says:

So glad you will be enjoying the Share button Samantha.  I never liked things because I would always have to run over to Facebook to delete it off my personal wall.  So at least Facebook has finally seen how important it is for us to keep business and personal separate OR at least have the opportunity to do so.

Glad you stopped by and shared your thoughts.

  4. Hi Lynn,

I use the FB share button quite a bit. It was actually the 2nd share button on my blog after tweetmeme.

It’s simple to download, easy to use, and as you note, it takes the whole “Like” situation out of the equation.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Ryan

    • Lynn Brown says:

Appreciate you letting others know how easy the Share button has been for you Ryan.

I agree with you about the Share button taking ‘the whole ‘Like’ situation out of the equation’!  So glad you visited and shared your comments.

  5. Hajra says:

    Hey Lynn,

I haven’t been using the Share button but people have told me that it has been helpful, especially for business owners who benefit from the word being spread around. The like button does get a little troublesome at times, floods walls too much!

    • Lynn Brown says:

That is well put Hajra!….  about the Like button flooding your personal wall.  I hope you will give the Share button a shot.  Let me know if you do and how you like it.  Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts.

  6. Thanks, Lynn.  I avoided the share click, since I don’t want to share certain things with my friends v. my fans/clients.
You made it clear that I can.

    • Lynn Brown says:

When the Share button first came out (I think a few months ago) you could not select where to share it to except your wall and I believe as a message.  Today FB finally sees (or I hope they do) the value in being able to direct the item you want to share.

I am glad this was helpful and appreciate you taking the time Roy to share your comments.

  7. Fantastic post, Lynn! Thanks for sharing about this and for mentioning WAHM Solution. The Facebook share button really helps to keep business off your personal profile by giving choices about where you share.

You are welcome Leanne, and I’m glad that you wrote the article on your experience, it really helps others to decide what they can do with their Facebook biz page.  I hope others will see how the FB share button is a great way to keep your business separate.

Appreciate you stopping in and leaving your comments.
