Many agree that having the proper ‘look’ that is consistent with your business develops a much higher branding awareness. After all, the large corporations spends tons of money developing their brand with logos, tag lines, marketing verbiage, consumer survey’s, and finding the right colors to attract customers and sales.
With Facebook you can cost effectively turn your fan page into a branding machine!
Pictures for Facebook Profile
Starting with you profile picture, this is an important area to consider. Make sure your Facebook profile photo is of high resolution, has an un-obstructed background and that you are sitting up tall and smiling!
Banners for Facebook
When you make a Facebook fan page, your profile banners are key to branding you and your business. Also include your profile photo and select verbiage that describes your business or services. It is best if the verbiage is similar or the same as your Facebook ‘basic information’ when you created your fan page.
Facebook Custom Profile Banner
A Facebook custom profile banner completes the look and branding of your Facebook fan page. Your visitors will know right away what kind of business or service you are offering.
Example of my custom profile banner:
Recently, I added a customer profile banner to my fan page, and have seen a tremendous amount of interaction. Before, I just had thumbnails of images from various blog posts. Now my visitors can see at a quick glance what my business is about and they don’t have to guess!
It’s your turn …. take a look at your Facebook fan page. Better yet, have someone else take a look and get their first impressions, what they like, what they have questions about and ask them if they know right away what your business or services are.
Share what you learned, how you can improve your fan page and other suggestions to benefit branding your business through Facebook fan pages.
Make it a Profitable and Successful day!

Hmm it seems like your site ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any recommendations for first-time blog writers? I’d genuinely appreciate it.
Blogging is a way to communicate and relate to your audience. It takes consistency and always engaging with those visiting your site. Keep your information interesting, helpful and something that will turn your visitor into a contact and paying customer. Hope that will help you out – thank you for stopping by and sharing your comments.

Thanks Lynn! Did you know I found your post by using “Facebook banner” in the Facebook Search? You’re just awesome!
Wow! Thanks for letting me know that Kristen. I have been noticing how
Facebook picks up on posts with certain keywords. It just goes to show you
how social media is a huge way to connect in every aspect.
Also, just got off a video training and they were saying how Facebook is the
next Google!
I love working on my own profile banner, it is actually the best option for free traffic to your page or profile. Thanks for sharing such informational post.

Hi Lynn! I need to take some time on my profile banner. I put some pics up a while back to make sure I had something in place, but really need to decide what I want to put there and get it up! Thanks for reminding me! Your page looks great!
Thank you Jen, glad to help and look forward to seeing your new profile
banner when you get it completed. If you need any help, please let me

This looks very interesting and worth testing on a client’s FB fan page. Thanks Lynn for this great article.
Thank you Juan for stopping in and glad to hear you enjoyed the article and
information. Let me know if you or your client have any questions or needs
help with the customer banners. Also I visited your site and left a comment
on your post about Google Analytics custom reports.
Facebook banners are so snazzy and I love the one you have up on your Facebook page, Lynn. It matches perfectly with your business profile image.
I’ve been thinking more and more about including a banner on my page. Maybe I can try to figure out how I can design one on my own. That’d be a fun challenge. =)
P.S. I’ve been working on an icon for my website too. Out of curiosity, is there a reason why you don’t have an icon for your website?
Yes I think there are so many ‘snazzy’ banners out there. You could
possbily make your own but I paid the $47 to get both banners! It saved
me a lot of time so I could work on other things in my business. Let me
know if I can help you to acquire yours.
But funny that you asked about the icon (or logo) Samantha, because I did
ask my graphics guy if he could do a logo for me…. did you know they
charge so much for those? That is because they have to make several sizes
and mostly smaller images, which require a high resolution graphics work.
They can be much more difficult than the banners.
Also I haven’t really had a need for a logo. I’m curious Samantha, what
icon or logo would you suggest for me? Just for kicks?
Wow! I had no idea! Those icons are so tiny. =P
Hmm! Good question! I’m thinking that it would have to have the paisley in the shade of blue that you use in your FB fan page with… maybe… a dollar sign? =) Haha!
Good suggestion Samantha. Not sure if I really need an incon or logo. Will
still have to consider that. But I do like your idea of taking the paisley
from my banner background. Thanks again!!
I’ll second that motion from Jeannette — your Facebook page looks GREAT!
First impressions do make a difference. And having an attractive profile banner on your biz page is important. It’s one of the first things that catches someone’s eyes when they land there. I’ve seen some really interesting ones lately that span an inspirational or motivational quote across the banner. Since I’m a quote junkie, those ones always stand out to me.
Thank you Melanie and again, Jeanette – appreciate the compliment. But
these web guys are good these days! They take your color, ideas and
verbiage and turn it into an eye catcher. Of course it takes a couple of
edits, but it really is an easy process and I agree with you Melanie, if it
will catch someone’s eye, hopefully that means they will stay, look around
and take action!
Appreciate you stopping in and offering your support and comments.
I dont have a Facebook page banner… you guys just have so many ideas that it’s hard to keep up ! One more task on my to do list!
And I promise you Hajra this is a task that is simple, easy and painless to
the pocket book!! If you want help, please let me know. We can get you
banners in a short few days. Just send me an email. Thank you and
appreciate your comments.
Thanks for this information, Lynn. You fan page looks great! – Jeannette
Appreciate the feedback Jeannette. It can be just the little things to
attract that potential visitor or client. Thanks again for stopping by.
Lynn is the go-to gal! Great advice.
Thanks Roy for the support and glad you enjoyed the post!
