There are so many amazing features on Linkedin

which help you engage and spark potential business.   Whatever your marketing plans are, they should always include social strategies with those prospective clients and customers.

This can be accomplished through consistently returning comments on your blog, social sites- like Twitter and Facebook, but now you can engage with those that accept your Linkedin invitation to join your network.  I put together a short video that gives you one of these ideas which is also a cool feature of Linkedin:

Let me know your thoughts on this tip and share any others that you would add.

    Hi Lynn,

Just wanted to comment about how great LinkedIn is for my business!  Over a year ago I sent out a posting “Looking for Speakers” for my seminars@sea Cruise program and I got over 300 emails over night!  it hasn’t stopped yet!  I just posted the same post and with in minutes I had 5 phone calls and 20 emails!

Now that is some awesome results Dianne! It just goes to show you the power of Linkedin. It is a great way to reach out and gain awareness and you certainly have done that. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences as it will be very helpful to others.

  2. Great tip, Lynn.

  3. Thanks for sharing this Lynn.  Of course your signature is also a great place to share your free taste opt in report/audio and build your list of subscribers as well.

Great idea and definitely something I will be doing more of.

    • Lynn Brown says:

Oh that is a good idea Daphne, adding an audio optin and reports. Thanks for sharing that because the more ideas allows us to think more out of the box to gain that attention!

    Hi Lynn,

Great tip as always and I am starting to realize that it’s engaging with your audience that makes you stand out.  I like this tip because it’s not automated like in Twitter.  For that reason, it makes it more personal and not spammy!

Thanks also for the sharing wisestamp!

Always good to hear from other coaches like you Diana that see how engaging is really the key to our business success. After all, we are on these ‘boxes’ and reaching out to others has to be in a way they understand and will want to join in. So I appreciate your support Diana!

  5. Hey Lynn,

That’s a great tip but I’ve just been sending them an email in LinkedIn thanking them for the connection.  I’ve had two people message me back letting me know that NO one else has ever done that and that I stood out to them because of that.  But of course, I don’t have all my information attached to that reply.  I just hoped that they would be more interested and check out my profile where of course, they will find all that same information.I would think that with the number of emails people receive that they might see the subject line, think it’s spam and ignore it.  But you aren’t seeing that?  If that’s the case, I may have to start sending them an email instead of a reply.

Thank you so much for that tip.  Great one indeed Lynn!

I have tested it, and although it isn’t something you can really measure, I have seen much more interaction from doing that. Some do not reply back to my email, however, I have to think that the increase in interaction to my blog and social sites makes me think it is a pretty good technique.

But you do bring up an interesting point about the subject line, if you have thank you, it may go to spam. I know in my gmail inbox, I can see the first sentence of the email at a glance, so generally I can tell if it is going to be something of spam nature.

Thanks so much Adrienne, I appreciate you sharing your comments and getting your feedback.
