Online Business Success Mentoring 300x225 How to See Other Peoples Values for Online Business SuccessThe title of this article might be somewhat confusing to you, especially as an online entrepreneur.  After all, how can other people’s values help you to build up your online marketing empire?
-

Don’t be so quick to dismiss how much other people’s values can influence your own journey to online riches.  You may be missing out on some incredibly valuable information – the kind that can make or break your online marketing business!
-

When I was first starting out as an online entrepreneur, I was determined to go it alone.  I had seen too many of my friends get burned from so-called experts and info-marketers who only seemed intent on making a quick buck.  I vowed not to be like one of them, so I decided to forge ahead and do everything myself.
-

Fast forward a few months later, and I was practically drowning under the weight of my online business.  I was trying so hard to do everything myself that I wasn’t putting my all into my business.  But I was still convinced that going it alone was the best way forward.
-

That’s when a fellow online entrepreneur pulled me aside and shared some incredible lessons with me – lessons that I still hold close to my heart today.
-

Lynn,” he said.  “No one can ever build a business by themselves.  You have to realize that there are others out there who want to see you succeed.  Don’t be afraid to find those people and bring them on board your business.
-

It hit me like a ton of bricks.  My friend understood that trusting others was critical to online success.  I had been so busy avoiding help that I couldn’t see just how much I really needed it.  I finally got up the courage to bring freelancers on board, I asked other entrepreneurs to guest author on my blog and even formed joint partnerships to work on projects and other collaborations – and now, I couldn’t be happier with my decision.  It’s given me more time to spend with my family, and I also get to harness the power of other people’s knowledge and apply it to my business.
-

We’re so intent on living life quickly that we sometimes forget that there are valuable lessons to be learned.  Listen closely to what a friend or entrepreneur has to say – you may discover something incredibly life-changing.
-

So are you still going it alone?  How will my story help you to see other people’s values?

Lynn, Couldn’t agree with you more. If there’s one thing that has stuck out to me over the pat year or two, it’s getting help and realizing (or admitting to yourself ) that you can’t do it ALL yourself. And why even try. There are plenty of people around to show us the way. I’m lucky in that i found a great mentor, and I hope other people will too. Thanks for sharing this post.

Glad to hear that you have a wonderful mentor Eryn. And I think you make a good point about ‘admitting to yourself’ that you can’t do it all is the real issue. So often we can talk ourselves into believing it is okay to keep going crazy and trying to not only run a business but to build it at the same time.

Really appreciate you stopping by today and sharing your good thought and advice. Look forward to you visiting again soon. Have a great day!

  3. Hi Lynn,
I remember you saying this to me several times, it’s about trusting and connecting.
The more we trust ourselves the more we trust others and we are free to share the best resources to make the difference.
At the same time we need to know who is are the good conenction sfor our business having a plan and strategy.
    Thanks for this precious reminder!

  4. Steve Vernon says:

You’re so right on, Lynn. Part of what leads us into online marketing in the first place is our desire to be independent, which creates this strange and challenging paradox. The advantages of things such as network marketing and being part of blogging groups such as TSA (Tribe Syndication Association) are that you can rely on teamwork and the assistance of others while maintaining that sense of independence.

    • Lynn Brown says:

Oh I like the way you put that Steve. We really do start out independent and when we know that team is an important factor in building your business, that is when we will truly understand the key to success is certainly within others.

Really appreciate you sharing your amazing insight and words of inspiration. Thank you so much for stopping by and hope that you will visit again soon!

    Hi Lynn

I know you’ve heard (okay read lol) me say in my own blogs from time to time that we are not meant to live this life on our own. Clearly you get that and you see how it applies to our business too! Brilliant.

We certainly cannot be all things to all people and we need to rely on other expertise or value as you put it. If we don’t, as you discovered, you burn yourself out.

This is a super important tip you are giving people for building their business Lynn. WhohoO!

  6. Kostas says:

Hi Lynn, no one can succeed just by himself and without the help of the others. Actually one of the most important skills of a successful entrepreneur is to understand the value of others and “use” them in the best possible way…

  7. Madonna says:

Yes, I so agree that you can’t build a business alone. That has been really hard for me to accept, being a very independent person.

It is especially true in today’s world, where interdependence seems almost necessary.

    Nice reminder.

    Thanks Lynn

I certainly can relate to that Madonna. I have always been a very independent person. But years of ups, downs and learning how a team is an important factor for business success, has been an humbling lesson for me.

  8. Ah, the pitch for a board of advisors or a board of directors. We have had an OUTSIDE board for 40 years now- for all of our entities. And, we serve on the boards for many firms, as well. (Some are less formal than others.)
    Great advice, Lynn.

  9. Aw shucks Lynn without people like you in my life I would miss so much. You keep challenging me to be more social and more visible and you keep helping me do so. I am glad that you realized that connection leads to transaction (i.e.business).

Well that is so nice of your to say Roberta! And I love how you say it … “connection leads to transaction”… how true that is. Keeping our business visible in the eyes of our audience is a commitment and I think that social media is proving to be very helpful in letting us do that.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and sharing your words of wisdom.
