Happy New Year 2012 small 300x200 I Am Getting Ready for 2012 New Year, How About You?Over the past few weeks, I was particularly drawn to those articles or posts regarding resolutions and goals for the coming New Year.
-

The last week of the year for me has always been a time to rest, reflect and rejuvenate.
-

It is also a time I start working on my ‘white board’!  Yup, I still use a white board which was something I learned decades ago.  If it  isn’t my white board it is the little notebook I always carry with me.  Why?

You just never know when you are going to come up with ideas while driving or even brainstorming with fellow colleagues.

So I wanted to know how others were preparing for the New Year.  These are some of my favorite articles I came across that provides tons of ideas for setting goals, business planning and New Year resolutions …..  Hope you enjoy them as much as I did:

Hi Lynn and Happy New Year!

I wrote a post sharing with my readers the things I had in store this year for my blog and my business.  I also asked a lot of questions of my readers because there are a few things I’ve been thinking about doing but definitely needed some opinions.

My main goal to accomplish this year though is just building my business up to the level I know it can be.  I drug my feet a little this past year on that because I had so many other things going so this year I’m concentrating more on that one specific task.  Oh, and hopefully creating a product as well.  Yep, big things in store.

I wish you all the success you deserve in this coming year Lynn.  Thank you for sharing these other posts with us as well.

    • Lynn Brown says:

Well I can see you accomplishing all of that Adrienne. You have a lot going for you. And if you focus in, I think there is nothing stopping the wonderful things you will share and help others. I was drawn to you because of the way you communicate. so you have a huge advantage and something that will surely help you achieve your goals!

Thank you so much for your continued support. I am glad that we are connected and I will continue to do what I can to contribute, share and grow from wonderful colleagues like you. Much success to you Adrienne!

  2. Lisa Kanarek says:

Thanks for these resources. I’m going to check them out. My New Year’s resolution is to stop making resolutions and just take action. This is going to be my “risk” year where I’m going to push myself to get out of my comfort zone.

    • Lynn Brown says:

Hey Lisa I give you two thumbs up. Taking action and stepping out of your comfort zone is going to bring a lot of great changes for you. I no longer see it as a ‘risk’, instead it is a positive move towards building up a successful venture. So stick to your guns, never give up and enjoy the ride. Remember there are people like me here to help you in any way that we can!

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing your awesome plans for the New Year!

  3. You know, I haven’t thought too much about resolutions at all, but I LOVE your idea about carrying around a notebook. I have tons of ideas for blog posts, creative writing, and personal development at random moments. Maybe that should be my resolution. =) I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas, so maybe it can be my portable, digital note book. =)

    • Lynn Brown says:

Thanks Samantha. You know I have always had a spiral ring note book (small) that I have on my desk even during my corporate management days. Any phone call, any conversation or meetings i would make notes. When I acted on an idea or completed a task, i would cross it off. I could flip back thru the pages easily to see what wasn’t crossed off. This was a tip an old boss had me start and I just got use to it.

If you get your Kindle and use it for your ideas and creative thinking, you probably will get in the habit too. Have fun with it and have a wonderful, successful New Year!

  4. Hajra says:

    Hi Lynn,

some lovely people mentioned here! 2011 was a great year for me…both professionally and personally and here’s hoping 2012 is even more wonderful. I just took a break from work recently. Looking for something better at the moment. Here’s wishing you a lovely 2012!

    • Lynn Brown says:

I appreciate that Hajra. Happy to hear that 2011 was a great year for you and I am pretty sure you will make 2012 just a good if not better! Taking a break from it all sometimes is the best thing you can do to rejuvenate and come back with tons of creativty and motivation. Be confident and stay positive, and look forward to our continued connection.

  5. Thank you for sharing these inspiring blog articles. They are great for entering the new year with the right attitude. Happy New Year, Lynn!

  6. Roberta Budvietas says:

Thanks Lynn for including me. It has been great in 2011 sharing with you and the other TLCers on FB and I look forward to working more closely with all of you on all our new projects in 2012 but right now, I am enjoying new ear’s eve and hoping hubby feels better tomorrow.

    • Lynn Brown says:

Thank you Roberta and you have been a tremendous inspiration to me and my business. I also look forward to working with you and all the great business colleagues I’ve met …. 2012 is going to be a great year! I hope your hubby feels better, enjoy celebrating the New Year!

  7. Hey Lynn — So glad you included Chris Makell’s guest post here.  Thanks!

Right now I’m using my time for reflection and re-fueling.

I go gangbusters all year long — online and offline.  I feel like I took an extra deep breath in at the beginning of 2011 and I’m just now allowing myself to exhale.  I need to take a breather before I dig my heels in again.

At the moment, my biggest plan for 2012 is to stay excited, inspired, and motivated by all the possibilities the new year may hold for me.  :)

Wishing you and all your readers a fabulous 2012!

    • Lynn Brown says:

Yes that is exactly what I told my husband Melanie, that this week (last week of the year) is my time to rest, relax and rejuvenate! So glad you are doing the same and I look forward to our continue alliance, thank you for inspiring me to become more creative with my writing!! and looking forward to an awesome 2012 –

  8. Love it Lynn! You’ve shared some fabulous posts and I thank you so much for including mine.  I’ve been taking time to reflect on what worked, what moved me forward and how I can rock 2012.

My intentions are going to be worked on for 2012 with goal planning soon to follow. One step at a time right?  I have a list of things I intend to do (think smaller version of a bucket list) and from that I pull out my goals.

Wishing you the very best in 2012!

    • Lynn Brown says:

One step at a time – I agree! Thank you Bonnie for your warm recognition. I shared your post because you have also inspired me through out the year and I look forward to our mutual connection. I like the way you put it … the small bucket list! Thank you again and we will see you next year! Happy New Year.

  9. Hi Lynn,

I continue to focus on being present. In the moment, all is OK, so being present is my primary goal for as long as I’m living.

To remain present I will keep up with my hourly breaks. I work for 40 minutes and sit for 10 or 15 minutes each working hour. I meditate, visualize, affirm or go for a stroll during these breaks. This helps to expand my awareness and keep my mind fixed on my primary intent while working.

As for detailed goals I simply intend to continue sharing value through my blogs and social networks, and making strong connections with individuals. I like making an impact where I show up.

Specific goals? That’s between me and the Universe ;)

Thanks for sharing with us Lynn. Happy New Year :)

    • Lynn Brown says:

Being present and in the moment …. that is certainly a great aspiration. Thank you so much Ryan as your resolutions and goals for the New Year are inspiring to me and I bet for others as well. Having time to meditate is something I started to do just recently and it really does help to rejuvenate and gives me clarity, keeps me focused.

Always appreciate when you stop by Ryan. Happy New Year!

  10. Enquiries says:

    How about these
New Year resolutions for your business life?

If you want to make it in this world, you have to
grab your moment, work as hard as you can and never give up.

You should have your heart in your business and
    your business in your heart

Marketing tips = be known in your industry and your
area. Get out more – network. Every day, try and talk to someone in business
that you don’t know. Utilise the internet

There is never a good moment – a winner seizes the
moment. A winner MAKES the moment

You don’t need money to have a winning attitude

We can’t choose everything in our lives but we can
choose not to make it harder than it is.

Whatever else is happening to your business that
you have no control over, you should take control of you.

Let your mantra be: If it is to be it is up to me.

    • Lynn Brown says:

Bravo and thank you! All very good resolutions to consider when stepping into the New Year. Thank you so much for taking the time to stop in and share these! Look forward to you coming by again real soon.
