As we know, social media plays a huge role in online businesses.  Even those fairly new to the Internet business world have heard about the importance social media plays in boosting visibility for you, your business, products or services.  The question is, “Are you simply promoting you, your business or your products — over and over again — or are you utilizing social media to enrich others and create a cooperative community?”

What Is Endorsement Marketing?

_

I’m sure many friends or colleagues have shared stories about a fabulous meal they had at a restaurant or animatedly described a movie they recently viewed. These glowing recommendations are the simplest form of endorsement marketing.
-

Call it “word of mouth,” “buzz marketing” or whatever you wish. The best way to gain recognition is for others to endorse you, your business, products or services.

_

Endorsement marketing is a formal way of educating others about what you experienced and why you’ve chosen to promote a certain business or entrepreneur.

Top 3 Effective Methods Of Endorsement Marketing
-

LinkedIn:

Recently, LinkedIn added a new feature that enables you to endorse a contact’s skills and/or expertise. This does not replace recommendations, but it is a wonderful way to recognize others with a simple click – an easy and effective method of endorsement marketing.
-

Check out My YouTube Video and learn how to start endorsing your contacts.
-

Twitter or Facebook:

Those of you that regularly visit my blog have seen the following advice many times — “Be a Giver First.” I truly believe the most important aspect of social media is sharing and promoting the efforts of others. Championing others demonstrates an aspect of leadership confident business professionals understand.
-

When promoting other small business owners or entrepreneurs on Twitter or Facebook, you’re cultivating attention for them. At the same time, the audience notes your presence in the endorsement marketing. You are actually creating a community built upon affirmations, which, ultimately, spark a desire to learn even more about you! It’s a “win – win” prospect in an industry saturated with so much advertising, promotion and marketing it can make you dizzy!
-

Go ahead…LIKE a Facebook Fan Page…FOLLOW others on Twitter and RE-TWEET some of their information. You will be astounded by the amount of activity that, alone, will generate.
-

Offline Promotion:

Time to start talking! If you’re at a store, taking a walk or attending a community event…leave your shyness at home. Sharing information, in person, about other online or offline business is the finest form of endorsement marketing.
-

Share some of your favorite websites or first-rate products you found at local stores. It is a great conversation starter and encourages others to share similar information. Use endorsement marketing to ‘break the ice’ and meet new people.
-

_

Don’t be afraid that endorsing others will hurt your business. It accomplishes quite the opposite effect. Supporting others through endorsement marketing increases your visibility as well as the business you’re endorsing. Take action…endorse a few of your contacts and watch what happens!
-

May your generosity of spirit be rewarded with health, wealth & happiness!

LinkedIn Connects Business People For Success

LinkedIn Groups1 300x298 LinkedIn Connects Business People For Success

LinkedIn Connects People

LinkedIn is a network of business people helping each other through a growing social network comprised primarily of business owners, making it unique and different from other popular networks. LinkedIn allows business owners to forge essential connections for business success.

In business, the foremost reasons for using social networks are to gain leads and connect with people who can enhance your success. When using LinkedIn, you are mingling with people like you…business owners.

LinkedIn is not the leading social network, but is definitely a worthwhile investment of your time. I know you have heard me say that time and time again, but it is true!  Unlike Facebook and Twitter, LinkedIn is a social spot for business owners, providing an opportunity to network with other business owners. LinkedIn is a forum where like minds come together for solutions.
-

After becoming a LinkedIn member, business owners can join groups and discussions according to common industries, areas or topics of interest. Exchanging ideas and collaborating with others is an invaluable tool! Gone are the days of traveling from site to site, seeking answers and/or leads for your growing business. Your entire social networking needs can be found in one place…LinkedIn.

LinkedIn Groups

“Basic” members can join a total of 50 groups, permitting the ability to explore an abundance of various interests within a range of groups. By joining multiple groups, you are sure to find the right mix of interests and knowledge to support your type of business.

I found the most valuable groups don’t spend an inordinate amount of time talking about their own business. You definitely want to belong to vital groups that brainstorm ideas and help build leads. Great groups will discourage those who only want to promote themselves.

Connections begin immediately upon joining a group and getting to know the business owners in that group. Giving/sharing with the group is what it is all about. You are not there to simply extract the advantages, but to give something back in return. Offer a brief introduction, let them know you are new to LinkedIn and, when there is opportunity, submit your own valuable input.

Topic Groups

After mastering the art of contributing to groups in a meaningful way, you should then consider starting a topic group of your own. Take the leap…share valuable information on a specific topic. Form a topic group and invite everyone and anyone that can relate to your topic.  Don’t discount the value of sharing with your competition as well! Collaboration is what LinkedIn is all about; there is something for everyone, so don’t hold back.

All it takes to connect, in a meaningful way, on LinkedIn is to make a habit of establishing new connections every business day. Reach out and give a little, gain a bit, share a piece of your life and watch how this assists your business expand to new heights.

Remember, the way to amplify and augment your business is to get connected! LinkedIn is an essential tool for accomplishing this task. Business owners “gather” with like-minded people, gain information, form friendships and create leads. LinkedIn is your one-stop-shop for superior social networking.

So…have I convinced you about the power of LinkedIn? If you’ve never utilized this platform, now is the time to dive in. If you previously used LinkedIn but set it aside, promise me to jump back on board and join a few LinkedIn groups!  As always, feel free to share your insight below.

How LinkedIn Can Generate More Leads Than Facebook and Twitter Do

Social Media Marketing Tips1 300x284 How LinkedIn Can Generate More Leads Than Facebook and Twitter DoSocial media are one of the tools that contribute to lead generation efforts in B2B and B2C. However, it is important to determine the efficiency of the various social channels in driving more leads.
-

I was reading a very interesting article by author, Rebecca Corliss sharing a recent study of LinkedIn’s conversion rates, by HubSpot on over 5,000 businesses.
-

LinkedIn Study Stats by HubSpot 300x215 How LinkedIn Can Generate More Leads Than Facebook and Twitter Do

Based on the results of the study, it discovered that traffic gained from LinkedIn created the top conversion rate from visitor-to-lead.

The rate was at 2.74 percent, which is three times higher than Twitter and Facebook. Twitter was able to generate a conversion rate of 0.69 percent, while Facebook had 0.77 percent.
-

The study proved how LinkedIn garnered the highest conversion rate, as compared to social media sites. This means that of all the traffic to these business’ websites via social media sites only 0.98 percent converted into leads.
-

LinkedIn, on the other hand, has a lead conversion rate that reached 2.74 percent. These big numbers cause many people to wonder why LinkedIn can be the best channel for lead generation. They seek to find out how they can use LinkedIn to their advantage.
-

  • Individuals join LinkedIn to present their work expertise, career, and to search for information that will improve their professional lives.
  • Businesses who target other companies will find a high concentration of their target audience on LinkedIn.
  • Moreover, most people who visit the site have a business-focused mindset. This sense of purpose will contribute to the excellent performance of the business.

The same, positive results can be attained by B2C-focused industries. You will find less content posted to LinkedIn as compared to other social channels. This is because most users post marketing-related ads and content instead of the typical photos or social comments.
-

LinkedIn offers a professional atmosphere, and users can benefit from the content posted on the site at any possible time. This means that a company’s marketing post is more visible on LinkedIn than in any other site.
-

With these proven statistics and facts, I am betting that more and more business owners, marketers and entrepreneurs will think twice about LinkedIn. What about you?

-

Now there’s something even more special you can do with your LinkedIn profile: bring visibility to your purpose.
-

So what exactly do I mean by this?  Well, it’s simple: bringing purpose and visibility to your business via LinkedIn means establishing yourself as a bona fide expert.  The more you connect with your fellow industry professionals and colleagues, the more opportunities you have to spell out what it is that you do, and what you hope to accomplish.  This gets people excited about what you’re doing, which translates into more visibility for your business.

LinkedIn also gives your followers a better sense of what your purpose is.  When followers examine all the industry connections you have, your goals, and the groups you make regular contributions to, they understand the primary purpose behind your business.  This translates into more traffic, more sales, and ultimately, more loyal clients who are ready to buy from you again and again.

How to Make Significant Connections on LinkedIn

Linkedin Connections1 300x200 How to Make Significant Connections on LinkedIn
You know that LinkedIn marketing
is one of the best ways to increase your brand exposure, gain more clients and skyrocket your bottom line – but you can’t unlock the secrets to LinkedIn marketing unless you can actually get out there and start connecting!
-

Connecting on LinkedIn might feel like an easy thing to do – at first.  However, when it comes to making those significant introductions – we’re talking with expert marketers, best-selling authors, and top-notch consultants – the usual tactics just won’t cover it.
-

Ready to learn how to make significant connections on LinkedIn?  Here’s what you need to know:

  1. Join a similar group with your connection.  Let’s say you have your eye on connecting with an expert Internet marketer.  Take a look at their profile, and see what groups he or she belongs to.  Join up with the groups that you have a genuine interest in (be genuine here!).  After some time, send a message to the potential connection about a topic that’s currently being discussed in the group.  This should be enough of a reason to establish a LinkedIn connection.
    -
  1. Search for similar contacts.  When it comes to establishing a significant connection on LinkedIn, never underestimate the power of a shared connection.  If you know someone who knows the person you want to connect with, pull in a few favors and get the former contact to make the introduction.  Having someone introduce you to your intended connection will make them much more likely to accept your request.
    -
  1. Be honest.  Okay, so maybe you don’t have a shared contact or a similar group interest – don’t let that stop you from attempting to reach out.  Now, I only recommend this as a last resort, but it’s better to make the attempt than to give up.  Just introduce yourself and acknowledge your shared interests/skills, and request a LinkedIn connection.  If the person doesn’t get back to you, don’t keep pestering them.  Once you become an online expert, they’ll be pestering YOU for a connection!
    -

Now that you know how to make a significant connection on LinkedIn, it’s time to get started!

Or maybe you can offer more tips and techniques to add to my list.  Feel free to share them below.

My 3 Easy Tips In Overcoming Linkedin Shyness

Linkedin Shyness 200x300 My 3 Easy Tips In Overcoming Linkedin Shyness When it comes to making connections on LinkedIn, does this scenario sound familiar?

You set up your LinkedIn profile (hopefully using the tips I’ve given you!).  You start searching for a network of like-minded professionals in your industry.  You immediately recognize a few people you know, so you immediately request a connection with them.  However, you often experience shyness when meeting new professionals in the real world, as you don’t know when to bring up connecting on LinkedIn.

This phenomenon is what I like to call “LinkedIn shyness” – and it can often be one of the biggest deterrents to an online marketerbuilding a massive (and incredibly valuable) networking base.

But Lynn, you might be thinking to yourself.  I’m not being shy – I’m just being observant of boundaries!
-

I know that the pressure of connecting with someone on LinkedIn – especially after you’ve just met him or her at a conference – can seem like a daunting prospect.  It gives you that “high school kid in the cafeteria” feeling; in other words, you want to make friends, but you’re afraid of appearing too forward and getting rejected as a result.
-

Luckily, I have a way that all online marketers can overcome LinkedIn shyness without having to ask everyone they meet to connect with them online.  Here are a few quick-fire tips that will get your connections expanding – just like your business horizons!

  • Import your contacts from your email account and seek them on LinkedIn.  As you already know these people, it will be easier to request connections with them.

  • Place your LinkedIn profile name on every piece of self-promotional materials you own.  Use it on your business cards, your email signature, your letterhead – you name it, put your LinkedIn info on it.

  • Finally, don’t be afraid to ask your existing network to introduce you to key industry players.  Having an acquaintance introduce you to a new contact will likely result in a new LinkedIn connection.

It’s a wide world out there – and you never know what opportunities will open up to you as a result of making these crucial connections.
-

Let me hear your thoughts … Are you experiencing LinkedIn shyness?  Are these tips helpful?

The Perfect LinkedIn Profile Picture – Uncovered!

Businesswoman self portrait 257x300 The Perfect LinkedIn Profile Picture – Uncovered!LinkedIn provides incredible opportunities for your peers, colleagues and readers to really connect with your online business.  Coming from a personal point of view, I can’t even count the number of times I’ve made a truly fantastic connection via LinkedIn, all because I built a profile that spoke to my professionalism, expertise and industry knowledge.

But I can tell you one thing for sure: no matter how impressive the text might have been in my LinkedIn profile, I can practically guarantee that I wouldn’t be getting as many connections as I do if I didn’t have a professional looking photo.

I know there’s a saying out there that you “shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.”  But this saying doesn’t hold up in the online world – because your online photo is the only physical representation of you your readers will ever have.

So if your LinkedIn profile picture is anything but stellar, you can bet that you’ll miss out on valuable connections from your peers, colleagues and customers.  It really justifies the need to revisit your profile image and give it an honest review.

So what constitutes an appropriate LinkedIn profile picture?

  • Make sure that you don’t have a distracting background.  Solid colors work nicely here; a background that clearly shows the picture was taken at a party doesn’t.
  • This may sound like common sense advice, but make sure that your clothing is professional and appropriate.  I can’t tell you the number of LinkedIn profile pictures I’ve seen where the “professionals” were wearing low cut tops or basketball jerseys.  Use this rule: if a CEO wouldn’t wear it, neither should you.
  • Finally, make sure you have an approachable smile on your face.  A warm, inviting and friendly smile is the best way to draw peers and professionals to your profile – so get ready to show off those pearly whites!

Remember
, your LinkedIn profile picture is the online version of you – so be sure to put your best virtual foot forward!

Am I way off base or do you think your profile picture is important to your social image?

3 Simple Strategies on How to Build Your Linkedin Connections

Building Connections on Linkedin 300x207 3 Simple Strategies on How to Build Your Linkedin Connections-
Becoming successful with LinkedIn marketing
is all about leveraging connections…

However, it’s safe to say that there’s a right way to engage with your connections – and then there’s a way that leaves you with a perpetual goose egg on your list of contacts!

Let’s face it: LinkedIn is one of the most powerful ways you can engage and leverage professional connections to start making things happen in your online business.  You never know when a connection with a business acquaintance could turn into an amazingly profitable affiliate marketing relationship, or if a friend of a friend has a brilliant solution for increasing traffic to your website.

So with that in mind, let’s take a look at three strategies that will help you successfully engage with your connections.

Strategy One:  Start with Familiar Connections

Worried you won’t know where to start once you join up with LinkedIn?  Don’t panic – your other social networking sites have already done all the work for you.  Take stock of your online friends and collect their email addresses, then use this information to see if they’re on LinkedIn.  If they are, send them a personalized invite and let them know that because you’re connected on other social networking sites, you’d like to connect on LinkedIn.

Strategy Two:  Connect with Professionals in Your Group

After joining up with groups with common industry interests and goals, see what kind of discussions are happening in these niche groups.  Don’t be afraid to jump into the discussions, as this can provide you with the perfect opportunity to send personalized invites to peers within the group.  The more discussions you take part in, the more visibility you’ll achieve – and the more likely it is that industry professionals and companies will agree to connect with your LinkedIn profile.

Strategy Three:  Don’t Use the Standard Template

Here’s a piece of advice I picked up from my own LinkedIn experience: don’t use standard template text.  Yes, LinkedIn provides an outline for messages – and no, you should absolutely REFUSE to use it.  Nothing says “I’m lazy and I don’t care about you” to your connections like sending a template, vague and generic message that reads like a mass email.  Take the time to customize your messages, and you should see favorable responses from your connections.

Use these three simple LinkedIn strategies when building and engaging your connections, and you’ll see a booming LinkedIn network in no time!

Share your experience on how you are building your connections on Linkedin, and leave any questions or comments below that I might be able to help you with.

An Important Piece of LinkedIn Marketing Advice

Business Entrepreneur 300x300 An Important Piece of LinkedIn Marketing Advice
As a social marketing coach
, I’m often approached for my advice about topics that may seem a little controversial.  I love tackling these topics, not because I flock to controversial topics – it’s because it’s so important for online marketers to benefit from these questions and take these LinkedIn marketing scenarios to heart.

For example, I recently had an online marketer email me to ask if it was appropriate to “play up” his employment history.  As a newbie to the online marketing world, his employment history looked a little sparse with regards to his profession – and he was worried that it would turn off potential connections as a result.

Here’s what I told him:

  • “Fluffing” your employment history is one thing – falsifying information in order to make connections is an entirely different matter altogether.  I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again:  if you make up employment just to establish a connection with a well-known peer or to avoid having a sparse LinkedIn profile, I guarantee you’ll get caught.
  • But that doesn’t mean you can’t fill your profile with tons of great information that wouldn’t necessarily go on a traditional resume.  I asked the newbie online marketer if he had attended any webinars, seminars or courses regarding his industry – fortunately, he had.  I told him to list these items in his employment history, as it demonstrates to professionals that while he didn’t have a “traditional” history in his industry, he was still a knowledgeable expert.

Remember, LinkedIn for business entrepreneurs
isn’t a resume site – rather, it’s a social media platform that allows you to leverage your expertise into real and tangible connections in your industry.  Don’t let a sparse traditional employment history in your industry prevent you from taking advantage of the power of LinkedIn marketing!

Linkedin Tags for Your Connections

Linkedin Tags for Connections 300x225 Linkedin Tags for Your ConnectionsIs there really a good reason for organizing your social media sites?  I think so.  If you started organizing your friends, followers and contacts from the beginning, then you know how easy it is to specifically communicate within these lists or groups.

Facebook has the Friend Lists, Twitter has Group Lists, Google+ has Circles … AND Linkedin has Tags!

 —
Yup, you may or may not know that Linkedin has a feature to organize your contacts by assigning tags to your connections.  You are allowed up to 200 unique tags that help you to filter connections for your specific needs.

I suggest you use your keywords when setting up your list of tags.  Also, your contacts can have multiple tags.  This can be helpful when you are ready to do some target marketing within the different areas of your business.

If you have been on Linkedin for a while and didn’t know about this feature, don’t worry, because even though it could be time consuming (depending on how many connections you have), it is easy to add tags to your contacts.

I show you how to start adding Linkedin tags in my How To video:

Linkedin Social Media Myth Revealed

Money on the Table 300x255 Linkedin Social Media Myth Revealed

I call it social media madness! So many social media sites and platforms that can overwhelm even the most experienced online marketing entrepreneur. However, these social sites — like — Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, YouTube and have you checked out Empire Avenue yet?!…. have proven to take businesses to the next level.

But there is a social media myth out there that I wanted to reveal. I can’t tell you how many times I hear …. “Linkedin is not for me.”

That is just plain wrong! In fact, if you are not using Linkedin in marketing your business, products or services – then you are leaving money on the table.

Linkedin has been for job seekers and job recruiters.  Large and small companies and corporations  use Linkedin when finding and recruiting executives.  While that is still true today, it is also true that Linkedin provides small online business and entrepreneurs with a huge platform for leveraging knowledge, ideas and opportunities.  Linkedin, in my opinion, is the elite social professional site to build your business with high credibility.  Build connections, alliances and more important, gain acceptance as an expert in your business.  This alone will attract more visitors to you, gain your trust and turn them into customers or clients.

The key to using Linkedin successfully, will be determined on the proper set up of your Linkedin profile.  This includes the appropriate  keywords, optimization and completeness of your information.

Use LinkedIn to Find Collaborative Partners to Keep Your Pipelines Full

Successful business team 200x300 Use LinkedIn to Find Collaborative Partners to Keep Your Pipelines FullRelationships really do matter on LinkedIn.  Every person that you connect with on LinkedIn, has access to thousands of other business people who are prospective cross marketing partners that can introduce you to their clients.  Save time marketing on LinkedIn by pitching win-win collaborative relationships to keep your pipelines full.  Instead  of trying to sell your products and services to your connections, invite them to team up to share the cost and time of marketing by providing each others’ clients with supplemental products and services.

LinkedIn members are looking for more business.  Provide them with a way to cross pollinate clients without jeopardizing their bottom-line and they will quickly accept your offer to collaborate.  Business cross pollination is the practice of expanding the marketing of a business through a non-traditional collaboration with another business.  Research your connections to uncover ways to grow your client base together.

Make notes about the business organizations they belong to, charities they support, education, products and services and more so you can develop a strategic approach when contacting them to discuss collaborating.  If their favorite charity is the American Heart Association, offer to donate a portion of sales generated from your collaboration to the AMA. Offer ways they can collaborate with you.  Most people want to form collaborative partnerships but they have no idea how to set things in motion.  Use the sample message below as a guide.

Hi Bob,

Thanks again for connecting with me on LinkedIn.  I use LinkedIn as a tool to find collaborative business partners.  If you are open to researching ways we can cross pollinate our clients to boost our bottom-lines, please let me know.  I have several key marketing projects that you may be interested in partnering on as well.

I will be exhibiting at a major expo in Los Angeles, sending out a printed newsletter to 2,000 small businesses, and launching a new blog.  Contact me if you would like to receive more info about the projects via email or prefer to speak on the phone.

LinkedIn Profile Secrets – The #1 Reason Why Your LinkedIn Profile Fails to Attract More Prospects

Linkedin Solution 300x170 LinkedIn Profile Secrets – The #1 Reason Why Your LinkedIn Profile Fails to Attract More Prospects

Right under your name, does your LinkedIn profile headline look like this…

  • CEO & Founder at XYZ and Associates?
  • Business Owner at ABC Consulting?
  • Speaker at YourName.com?

3 Reasons Why Your Profile Should Not Be the Same as Your Position

1)     Think of your headline as your first sales pitch to people who want to connect with you. If I am unfamiliar with you or your company, how does mentioning your company name and your position show me what you do and why I need to connect with you? It doesn’t! These headlines are too general, simple and straight forward. They are too vague and too broad.  In order for your headline to be effective, it needs to grab my attention. It needs to make me want to read the rest of your profile. As a potential client or potential referral source, I need to see right away how you can help me or my clients.

2)     When I am invited to connect with someone, I view their profile before I choose to accept.  The first thing that I look at is their headline to see if there is any possible synergy between the person who wants to connect with me and my business.  By doing this I can see if it is worth my time and energy to view the rest of their profile. Make your headline enticing so I will want to read your profile and connect with you.

3)     If someone is going through people search or through the groups to see who they should connect with, they are looking at hundred to thousands of opportunities.   You need to make your business stand out to entice others to want to click on your name to read your profile and learn more about you.

Now that you know that you need to drastically improve your LinkedIn profile headline in order to attract more clients, the question is, how do you fix it?

4 Questions You Must Ask Yourself When Creating Your LinkedIn Profile Headline

1)  What can you say in your headline that will give your instant credibility?

One of the easiest ways to gain that instant credibility is to use any media attention.  For example, I was recently called a “Social Media Expert” by the New York Times.  Look how I use this media mention in my new LinkedIn profile headline to give me instant credibility:

Read my profile now and discover LinkedIn secrets from the woman the New York Times called a social media expert”.

2)  Does your LinkedIn profile headline command action?

The best way to get someone to read your profile further is to tell them to do so. Just look at my example above. Notice I’m giving you a call-to-action. By stating read, view or learn more by reading my profile, you are instructing the reader to do so.  And, guess what – chances are they’ll listen. You just have to tell your prospects what to do – and why they need to take the action.

3) Does your LinkedIn profile headline show why you are different?

Go to people search on LinkedIn and type in your career description. Look at how many people match your description. For example, when I type in “internet marketing consultant” into people search it gives me 139,041 results. The phrase “life coach” gives me 83,847 results. The phrase “business coach returns” 224,274 results.  In your headline if you show how and why you are unique chances are your prospects will explore your business further than that of your competition.

For example Article Marketing Experts Eric Gruber’s profile headline was: See how we can get you published on websites like About.com – instead of just article directories like our competition.

4) Does your LinkedIn profile headline show a benefit to the reader?

By implying there is an advantage to your reader by viewing your profile you are telling them that there is a benefit of using your products or services.  The reader needs a reason to accept a connection with you.  By giving them a benefit you are instilling confidence in your business. For example:

  • Help My Website Sell Founder Adam Hommey’s headline is: Top internet marketing consultant and expert webmaster reveals how to make your website sell more products and services
  • The Global Institute of Visionary Executives Founder Carrie Jacobs has this as her headline: Read my profile and learn from a champion visionary executive coach how you can profit from your own brand of success

Just by fixing your LinkedIn profile headline, you will begin to attract more prospects and referral sources. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg. LinkedIn Secrets – 3 Reasons Why Most Small Business Owners Fail To Attract Clients Using LinkedIn

Networking with People 300x200 LinkedIn Secrets – 3 Reasons Why Most Small Business Owners Fail To Attract Clients Using LinkedInThere are over 80 million influential professionals from over 200 countries on LinkedIn that can become your potentials customers. In fact, LinkedIn’s membership is what Neilson Online is calling “The world’s largest audience of affluent, influential professionals” as you will find executives from all Fortune 500 companies there. Plus, you will find experienced professionals from large and small companies and every type of business and industry imaginable.

So, why aren’t you able to attract more clients? Why is no one connecting with you?

Out of the 80 million professionals, there are only a few internet marketers and companies that are successfully getting more clients each and every single day from LinkedIn. Below, you will find out their secrets to attracting clients that are ready, willing and able to invest in their products or services.

3 Reasons Why You Are Not Attracting More Clients and Making More Money with LinkedIn

Reason #1 – You are waiting for prospects to come to you

Clients who are willing to pay for your products and services will not just fall into your lap.  As an entrepreneur you have to make it part of your job to go out and find them.

Think of it this way, who is the interested party in this situation:

You or the person who doesn’t even know they know they need your services or products.

You have to be the one the take charge and find your prospects. Here are a few ways to easily engage with others on LinkedIn…

  • Update your status message daily.
  • Start a vigorous discussion in various groups that you belong to. This will enable you to prove your expertise in your given area.
  • Answer questions on the Q & A Boards. This will show your experience and help you become a thought leader

Reason #2 –You fail to take advantage of LinkedIn groups

LinkedIn allows you to join up to 50 groups – where you can network, join conversations and show prospects that you have the answers to their problems. Yet, most small business owners and internet marketers do not actively seek groups that they should belong to.

If they do join groups they make these two mistakes:

  1. They become a member of a group – but they sit there like a lump on the log. How can you expect prospects to come to you if you do not take the time to make yourself heard?
  2. They join groups where there are like members.  Let me put it to you this way, do you want to be a member of a group that is full of your competition or do you want to belong to a group that is full of people who could turn out to be your prospects.  It sounds pretty obvious to me that you would want to be where your prospects are. But many entrepreneurs fail to think outside the box and strictly join groups based on their field of expertise.

Another way, to take advantage of LinkedIn groups is to create your own group. This is the absolute best way to create your own community of followers. You are the one who is in charge of the type of content that is posted. You can make sure what you have to say is heard and you have the power to control your own group.  From my experience, many group members religiously check out what is being discussed in the groups they find the most useful.  Why can’t your group be one of them?

Reason #3 – Failure to Create Content and Distribute it to the Different Groups

Eric Gruber (My Partner at GetLinkedInHelp.com and Founder of Article Marketing Experts) belongs to 50 different groups. Now, if each of the 50 groups has at least 1,000 members, then each time he submits content, he is getting his content in front of 50,000 potential clients – just with a couple clicks of the mouse.

So, you need to create content that…

  • Proves your expertise
  • Sparks controversy and debate
  • Gets people talking
  • Entices prospects to visit your blog and website
  • Motivates prospects to take action (using your products or services of course)

Just by avoiding these common LinkedIn mistakes, you will begin to build your list of connections and prospects. Continue the conversation – and you will turn these prospects into paying customers and clients.

Now the three mistakes I outlined in this article is part of a larger special report where I detail 14 LinkedIn mistakes and the opportunities you are missing. You can get it for free at: http://www.GetLinkedInHelp.com

LinkedIn Profile Tips

I have been learning and noticing how important it is for your LinkedIn profile to be:

1) Fully completed

2) Have descriptive employement instead of CEO, Sr. V.P., etc. And add more positions that describe exactly what you do in your company, especially if you are an entrepreneur or self-employed

3) List your websites and blogs with keywords instead of  the standard default of ‘website‘ or ‘blog’.
