Video Content to your Blog Posts
-
Adding video content to blog posts can seem overwhelming to even the most seasoned bloggers. However, one of the easiest ways to set your blog and website apart from others is by generating unique video content for viewers and readers.
-
Video content is an inexpensive new source of content that has never been easier to pursue. Tools like YouTube and Google allow you to directly upload your video content to their site, so you don’t need to be an expert to get the ball rolling. Once uploaded, users can find your videos on a variety of different outlets, all of which you can direct back to your blog and website.

Getting Started with Your Blog Posts

Thankfully, prices for quality equipment have fallen sharply over the past few years. For many, built-in webcams are high enough quality and versatile enough for all of their video blogging efforts.
-
For others, though, purchasing some basic equipment may be necessary. Small handheld HD cameras have fallen below the $100 mark in the past year. These small, portable cameras are perfect for helping to generate content. Those, coupled with a small tripod, ensure you won’t have to hire a staff to facilitate recording. From there, it is time to decide what type of content is going to improve your blog.

Choosing Types of Content for your Blog Posts
-
The content you develop for your blog posts is an individual decision based on your business, audience and market niche. There are many different options you can pursue when you decide to make videos for your blog. Some of the easiest video content to generate are introductory videos to your blog posts. These videos should act as a supplement to your writing, not replace it. Most viewers won’t watch a video without context as to why they should view it.
-
Side note … be sure you are doing your keyword research even for your blog posts that will include your videos. You can refer to an article I recently wrote: Choosing Keywords and Keyword Tool As Your Secret Marketing Weapon
-
The second common type of video that would make for great blog posts, are the how-to videos, or a simple step-by-step instruction video to a relevant product or service. Other videos that are gaining popularity are those generated for sheer entertainment value. Some can be an interview, a product walk-through, or simply something meant to entertain blog readers to give them something different, peak their interest and get them coming back to your site time and time again.

How to Drive Traffic to Your Blog by Creating Killer Commentary
Thank you to my Guest Author, Ryan Biddulph, for an amazing insight of how important your comentary is for your blog and your business. Please let me know how you feel what Ryan know if this information will benefit you by leaving your ‘best commentary’ below!
Scroll down after reading a post. In between the brief comments you might find someone who wrote a 3 to 4 paragraph comment expanding on the blog post. This person adds value. This person is thoughtful.
This person might have just established a valuable connection with the blog’s author. The person just helped to build their authority. I guarantee this person gets plenty of click throughs and more than a few new readers by leaving the thoughtful comment.
I keep 3 ideas in mind when commenting.
Write A Mini Guest Post
Write 3 paragraphs minimum. Include an introduction, body and conclusion.
The goal is not to write a long comment, it’s to write a useful comment. Add value with your opinion. Make an impression by taking the time to write a comprehensive comment.
If you feel it’s impossible to write 3 paragraphs on a 400 word post you aren’t thinking creatively enough. Even if you have little knowledge on the topic it’s easy to say :
“Hello (Insert Blogger’s Name), Excellent post and all the more reason why we should learn to be thoughtful commentators. Effective commentating drives traffic to your blog and helps to establish your authority. Thanks once again for sharing your insight and enjoy your day. RB”
That’s 3 sentences. Expand on each sentence and you have 3 paragraphs. It becomes so much easier to write effective comments when you practice commentating on each blog post you read.
Time It
Carry a watch. Read the blog post and give yourself at least 5 minutes to craft a thoughtful comment.
Hurried commenting isn’t powerful commenting. If you seek to make an impression you must stick around and add something of value.
Kill the desire to rush by setting aside a set amount of time to comment. Discipline yourself to stick around until the alarm goes off. Resist the urge to think about the next blog post you have to read or the 100 other thing you need to get done that day.
Be present and decide to make a positive impression with each comment you write.
Don’t Copy Your Neighbor
How many times are you prepared to write a juicy comment yet after viewing the comments section you change your mind.
You became a victim of comment peer pressure. All your blogging buddies leave 2 sentence comments so you should too. You don’t want to stick out or sound like a know it all, right?
Wrong! Don’t copy your neighbor. Don’t fear being different. Don’t think that nobody is watching. Many people read the comments section. You can stick out like a sore thumb by writing effective comments.
If you want to receive different results you have to do what most other people don’t want to do. You must be patient and mindful. Differentiate yourself and prosper.
On To You
